Our Operation
Headlights Plus is a plastic repairer based in Moorabbin, Victoria. We specialise in
quality headlight repair including body damage and lens restoration.
Our objective is to reduce our customers' repair costs by restoring headlights to pre-accident
condition.
We operate on direct-charge or sublet basis and provide a 24hr turnaround and lifetime warranty
on all repair work and refurbished headlights we sell.

Lens Hardcoating
Our Lens Hardcoating service is unique within the aftermarket automotive industry.
Lens hardcoating is an integral step in the manufacture of modern headlights. By restoring this
protective layer (using OEM materials and technology), we restore lenses to their new condition
and allow many headlights to be salvaged at great saving/profit for our customers.
Complex Plastic and Headlight Repairs

Refabricating missing lugs and tabs.
Transplanting Xenon components into non-xenon variants.

Scratch Removal
Lens scratches upto 1mm on the face of the lens can be machined to pre-accident condition.
Deformation and gouges upto 3mm on the lens edge can be machined and filled with UV setting
cement to also restore original appearance.
Hardcoat Restoration
Modern plastic automotive lenses are made from polycarbonate (PC).
Some UV protection is built into the lens itself however polycarbonate is a very soft plastic
and is easily scratched and attacked by chemicals (sometimes used to clean the vehicle).
OEM's coat PC lenses with a 'hardcoat' which serves as a protective shell.
Over time, this coating can 'burn' or corrode from the interaction of UV rays and oxygen.
The rougher (or yellowed) the surface becomes, the faster it degrades.

Our complete hardcoat restoration procedure involves the following steps:
Machine removal of old hardcoat.
Machining and polishing of lens face to a glass finish.
Application of new hardcoating (by spray and flow coating in cleanroom environment).
Curing of the coating to achieve maximum hardness.
Our Origins
Headlights Plus evolved from the automotive repair and recycling industry in the early 1990's.
The owners operated, first, a smash repairer then a part recycling business in the 1980's and 1990's
before specializing in repairing headlights and plastic components.
Insurance Work
In 2002 we began working with major insurers.
Over time we gained a reputation for honest and
dependable work practises among insurance assessors and repairers.
Today we work with most major insurers and have a loyal base of smash repairers
who use our services on a regular basis.
